Helping Jonathan secure a job

“Whilst Parkinson’s has affected me, I have tried to focus on my strengths experience, qualifications rather than the illness itself. I think potential employers view a job candidate with a long-term illness negatively.

“Abri were always positive about getting back into employment, so that in itself was a big help. They helped with updating and amending my CV, and finding vacancies that I was unaware of.

“Whilst earning money is a big help, there’s also the social side of employment, i.e. working with and interacting with different people, overcoming problems and being active are all positive benefits of being in work.

“I honestly feel that the way the Abri team supported me was really helpful. Always positive, polite, having a ‘can do ‘approach to helping me back into employment.”
