Who’s that knocking at your door…?

It could be an Abri trade, coming to carry out works on your property. But if you’re not in, we won’t be able to do the work – whether that’s an emergency repair, planned work like a kitchen or bathroom replacement, or a safety check. Whether it’s a big or small job, it’s really important that you’re home at the time of the appointment to give us access, otherwise the work will have to be rebooked.

From April – June this year, nearly one in ten jobs booked with our trade team couldn’t be carried out because the person wasn’t home. This comes at a cost – in fact, we’ve estimated that those missed appointments come to over £173,000. That’s money that could be spent carrying out more repairs, improving our communities or investing in our services.

Missing an appointment not only costs time, money, it also means that you’re waiting longer than you need to for work to be carried out. It’s really important to us that all our customers live in a safe, warm, good quality home, and we know that delivering a top-notch repairs service is part of that. So please help us, help you, by making sure someone is at home to let our friendly Abri tradesperson in to carry out the works.

And if you do need to rebook your appointment, no problem! We just ask that you do this in advance so our trade operatives don’t waste a journey. It’s really easy to do so by either:

  • Using the My Abri portal to update your appointment
  • Giving us a call on 0300 123 1567

Don’t forget to check who’s knocking and verify their ID – a reminder on that is here.
