Our mini community action day in Halewood

Our community action days are days we devote to hearing directly from you, our customers, about the challenges you’re facing, the improvements you think we can make, and anything else you’d like us to know. We can support you on wide range of issues like, home maintenance, employment support and cost of living support. We are committed to supporting you and your community.

We recently had a mini community action day at Halewood Great Hollands, Bracknell, with several members of the Abri/Silva team attending, and we got to speak with a dozen customers. Our focus for the day was on providing customers with the opportunity to get rid of any bulky or unwanted items.

We removed bags and some bulky items that had been dumped, such as a kitchen worktop, and got some good insight into what it is like living in the estate as well as some repairs and maintenance issues that need addressing.

Key themes and issues we identified:

• Inappropriate parking and lack of parking space
• Some interest in setting up a resident’s group
• Rubbish bins blocking pathways on bin day
• Unattended kids causing some problems
• A defective security light
• An uneven footpath
• A collapsed wall
