Do you know how to report Anti-Social Behaviour?
We take ASB reports seriously
You have the right to feel safe in your own home. At Abri, we take all reports of ASB seriously and we’re committed to doing all we can, within our powers, to prevent, investigate, manage, and tackle ASB and harassment. We work closely with other agencies including the police, probation, environmental health, fire, social services, citizens advice, Domestic Abuse support, substance misuse and the local authority to name a few. Together, we work to make your communities safer.
Making our communities safer places to live
Our Housing teams work hard to tackle ASB in our communities, and to make sure they’re safe places for all our customers to live.
We sucessfully gained repossession of a home in Bordon, where a customer was disrupting the community, making other residents scared to leave their homes.
One of our customers had been on our radar for a while for her anti-social behaviour, including heavy drug use and dealing with associates.
The drug use has been difficult to prove and since 2021, the anti-social behaviour has become increasingly worse, including fighting in the street and theft. Her actions and behaviour heavily impacted the local community and as a result, children haven’t been able to play outside for some time due to violence that they have unfortunately had to witness. The customer has been tricky to engage with, therefore we were unable to resolve these issues without taking legal action.
The customer had sadly abandoned her dogs at the property and neighbours began feeding the dogs through the letterbox until the RSPCA could seize them. After a four-week process, the dogs were removed and we’re pleased to say were being looked after. Thanks to the caring neighbours, the dogs survived the heat wave and have received excellent care from the RSPCA.
Over the year, we worked with neighbours, the police and the RSPCA to gather evidence to support the claims of ASB and drug use. We gathered enough evidence to put forward to a judge, who (after three adjourned hearings) granted us with full possession of the property.
The residents of the road can now live without fear or anxiety.
